A warning before we start this video.
If you're a diehard audiophile, this video might hurt your very soul.
You've been warned.
So, recently, I made this video showing how I made a speaker almost entirely from LEGO, including the coil, and ridiculously, the membrane itself.
However, there was a problem.
Actually, there were many.
But the main one is that it wasn't playing Scarlet Fire.
So, today, I'm going to fix that problem.
And I'm also going to make it sound horrendous by cranking up the output to its max.
To start with, I'm going to make a couple of very minor upgrades in the hope that it might improve performance a little.
I'm going to tighten the bands holding the membrane in place in the hopes this might improve the higher frequency response just a little by allowing the membrane to oscillate a little faster.
To be honest, I don't know if it did, as my ears just aren't trained well enough.
Next, this was my original coil with very few wire loops.
Let's get rid of it.
I want to crank up the power.
So, in the hopes it might prevent the coil from melting, and also that it might increase the EM field, I'm adding more loops.
Yeah, I know.
This looks messy as hell.
Due to this being LEGO, I don't think it needs to be perfect.
Okay, enough faffing.
Let's play Scarlet Fire.
In a moment, I'll play Scarlet Fire directly from the soundtrack of the video, so you can hear what it should sound like.
This is what it does sound like.
I know that, especially for any audiophiles listening, this sounds absolutely horrendous.
But really, this is more just a silly tongue in your mouth.
Growing up with a last name like you have, do you feel a certain kind of pressure?
I imagine that's a pretty intense pressure to live up to a last name like Gates.
For me, yes, I feel that pressure 100%, but what a privilege to feel that, right?
I think I'd be so bored if I didn't feel like, oh, I need to do something, or I need to have, like, a purpose.
And I've been so lucky that I've been given by my parents, like, I can focus on what I care about and what I actually want to do.
That was Phoebe Gates, daughter of Bill Gates, talking about the pressure of growing up with that surname.
To not be judged as a typical Nepo baby who does nothing and is still set for life, Phoebe set out to build something that was actually hers.
She built it all right, but things aren't going according to plan.
Phoebe Gates' claim to fame was FIA, a platform she built with her standards.
roommate, Sophia Chiani. It was pitched as a free AI-powered shopping tool, one that would compare
prices for you and promised that you'd never overpay. So that was the idea behind it. Launched
in April of 2025, it would go on to raise a total of 43.5 million, cross half a million downloads,
and get named by Time Magazine as the best invention of 2025. By early 2026, that valuation
had climbed to $185 million. For Phoebe Gates, this was the proof that she could build something on her
own. As she put it herself, quote, no ties to my privilege or my last name. Then, in July 2026,
Bloomberg tested FIA's browser extensions across more than 50 websites. It found that it was doing
something very fishy and potentially very illegal. We found was that if you had the FIA extension
installed on your mobile browser, it would fire an automatic click in the background the moment you
put something in your shopping cart on any of the sites it had partnered with, even if you didn't
interact with FIA's app or extension. It was claiming credit and earning money for sales that it never
made. What followed for Phoebe Gates was a story with more damaging revelations and potentially serious
legal consequences. This isn't just a small whoopsie either. A maximum sentence of 20 years if found
guilty. A company called Honey is being sued in a federal court for doing similar things, but that
comes later in this episode. So today, we're going to look at the reports detailing what exactly
happened inside of FIA, how the scheme worked, and what Miss Gates is being accused of.
You are watching ColdFusion TV.
23-year-old Phoebe Gates is the youngest of Bill and Melinda Gates' three children.
To have the last name Gates must be kind of weird when you think about it. Everyone knows your dad's
name, of course, because he was once the richest man in the world. He was, however,
disliked in the 80s and early 90s for shrewd business practices. And in the 2020s, he'd be hated
for something more serious. But let's not get sidetracked. By the 2000s, your dad was a neutral
figure, seen as the market leader of the late 20th century computer boom. The father that you grew
up with is from this era. At home, as far as you can tell, things were normal. You did chores,
smartphones were banned at the dinner table or before age 14. Although you did stand to inherit 10 million
dollars and weren't allowed to tell your friends that you fly in a private jet. But overall,
so far, so good. But as you got older, you were beginning to get pretty frustrated by people
judging you as a lazy Nepo baby before you even opened your mouth. What better way to miss-
What a lazy Nepo baby.
To build something on your own. So that's exactly what Phoebe Gates did.
She went to Stanford to do so. And from the very first week, she felt the weight of her surname.
I had so much insecurity and like such a desire to prove myself, right, Stanford?
Just an interesting follow-up video to my part three in this LCD micro timer project thing. And everybody commented it on this gorgeous TFT display, isn't it? It's just beautiful. Thing of beauty. Joy forever. Love the contrast on this thing. It's absolutely gorgeous.
This is a super-duper, I'll link in the data sheet if you haven't seen it. Super-duper low-power LCD. And we'll do some more measurements actually at the end of this video. So stick around. A couple of people in the comments I think commented on, well, can you use a backlight on this display? Is it available as a transflective display?
This is actually a reflective one, which means that it's a mirror back in. Hi, you can see my camera there. There you go. It's got a mirror back in. So you can't, with these reflective displays, unfortunately this one only comes in a reflective type, you cannot actually use these with a backlight. They're not designed for it. So you need a transflective display, which is partially reflective and partially transmissive, so that you can put like a big, you know, LED backlight on the back of it and then light it up from the rear.
These aren't designed to do that. They're just designed to be sunlight readable. So if you wanted to, like, put a backlight on this thing, you would have to edge light it like this. And then, you know, like maybe from both sides or something like that, or from the top and the bottom. So you'd have to edge light the sucker.
But there's actually an interesting phenomenon with this particular LCD. This particular low power LCD in particular. It's a phenomenon of physics and LCD manufacturing.
I've upgraded the software so that I can just stop this there and it's gone into a fixed
static display, 654321, and now it's switched into an even lower power state, which I'll
measure at the end of the video for those interested.
It's only updating once every four seconds now.
So it's that 0.25 hertz frame rate.
So it's about as low power as you can go.
The micro is not sending it any new update information.
It's just holding that image there.
Now, the way that TFT screens work is that they've got an individual transistor for every
one of these pixels.
This is 384 by 196, I think it is.
And it's got an individual transistor and storage capacitor for each one of these pixels.
And there's a voltage common line, VCOM it's called, on the LCD.
So whether each individual pixel is either off or on, in this case, is determined by the
voltage difference between the V common line and the individual charge on each capacitor
for each individual pixel.
And if it's got a voltage there, it'll...
Oh, sorry.
I don't know why...
...mystical crystals, because this is a TFT, twisted pneumatic crystals, in each little
one of those elements...
That's how it's been going.
...in one direction or the other, depending upon the voltage potential across...
*Gay* *Crystals*
Do you like crustals? Crust.
Uh, playing the game Rust?
Game Rust is very good. That's what you're talking about.
Butt crust.
*Gay*
Rusty crystals from a butt.
What?!
Why are you talking about butts, dude?
That's very rude. There's only one type of borderline gay.
No, borderline gay.
Chuck is back to zero drums, because his new black foamy tokes it all.
*Crystals*
Did I accidentally draw you?
Also drinks all this drunk.
I sure hope it does. Mattress firm.
Uh...
uh let me get uh the super burger the what what gumball machine lady ladies how y'all doing in
todd's funeral now i know he wasn't perfect he was a degenerate gambler spirit of todd i'm gonna
fucking double down your donations put it on on black no no no don't put it on black no no no yeah
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah let's fucking go laddie i've learned nothing i want to say thank you to
everybody you got a match yeah oh you got a match yeah total takula mean island uh tupac was the best
rapper no why something more original uh i did not enjoy breaking bad what the how i mean you said
an original sentence but you passed the test but what the how tell me an original sentence we're
coming to fuck you up matter of fact fuck stream university
got a bad bitch by my lip a bad bitch by my right she never give itself manifest those positive vibes
you're coming to fuck what's up goose yo what's up dr jogger collab stream yeah hella collab
dr jogger either way hello guys and welcome in this video i will show you how the source code for
battlefield 2 works this project that i have here that will become open source very soon
is a full-on battlefield to reimplementation source code it's fully compatible with existing
clients and servers and it also has the ability to be modified to be so much more we can now patch
exploits we can use much more proper anti-cheat in the future when more people use this operation
course we can make much more intense mods the client will support 64-bit it'll
run natively on the latest Windows it'll run natively on Mac it'll run natively
on Linux you will be able to enjoy Battlefield 2 anywhere you want and if
you really want to make change you can just make that change right now this
source code is private as long as they're still exploits once those are
fixed we will make it fully open source under the GPL 3 oh boy so it
hasn't even been a week since Warner Bros and Paramount merged to become Skydance
and there's already a massive problem the Cartoon Network GigaLeak a gargantuan
200 plus gigabyte collection of files just got unleashed online there's a bit
of everything here from the last few decades of animation Dexter's Laboratory
Teen Titans Looney Tunes scooby-doo mystery incorporated regular show kids
next door my gym partners a monkey and more oh so much more the leaked files are
behind-the-scenes goodies the public was never supposed to see ranging from model
sheets to character rigs to pitch bibles and everything in between you'll see a
regular show storyboard of Rigby dropping the f-bomb there's an interview with the
Powerpuff Girls of themselves so the crew could understand the characters better we
have brand guides for shows like okay ko let's be heroes if they ever got
merchandise I wish there are HD versions of Adventure Time title cards the list
continues and fans are discovering new secrets as we speak here's the bad news I
can't actually show you content from the leak because the YouTube copyright gods
would send me straight to the shadow realm Skydance is already issuing
copyright takedowns but here's the good news there's something kind of
incredible that came out of all of this you see character rigs for shows like
gumball are now accessible to the public what does that mean well it's
essentially Cartoon Network being open source fans can edit original scenes
however they want adding in new characters making some new animations and
bringing a coat of fresh paint to familiar cartoons these are incredibly
useful resources aspiring artists can use to practice their craft the giga leak
not only shows how some of your favorite cartoons were made but it puts the
paintbrush in your hands animation is a beautiful gift while the leak is an
unfortunate security incident diving into the creation of childhood classics gives us an
entirely new perspective it lets us appreciate everything that went into
them but what do you think about all of this have you already seen some of the
files let's talk in the comments but anyway that's all for this video

You try moving your hand, and it's stuck.
You try getting your legs off, but those are stuck too.
And now the horse starts running straight towards the river.
It goes underwater with you still attached, and you can't get off.
This is a Kelpie, a shape-shifting water spirit from Scottish folklore.
It appears as a horse to get people close enough to touch it or climb onto its back.
And in these stories, its skin traps them and drags them underwater to drown.
Over in eastern England, there's a creature called Black Shuck.
It's a giant...
Sad!
Is it the day fun?
I'm walking...
Yeah, myself being all...
I'm such a lot.
Hey, hey.
These are the days of the sad.
These are the days of fun.
We have come walking.
Yeah, myself being all right.
I'm such a lot.
Hey, hey.
Yo, goose.
Yo.
I'm to start streaming on kick.
Uh, you just go live.
Do you need a separate account?
Just make an account on kick.
What do you mean, dude?
A streaming account.
No, you just use your main account.
Or viewing.
Just use whatever account you please, bro.
No.
Yep.
How?
You just go live, bro.
You just click go live.
You Google it.
How do I do it?
You ask ChadGPT.
Tell me.
You ask ChadGPT.
I don't know.
I just use my website to restream.
Open Vibe, you just stream to Open Vibe and it'll stream to kick.
All you have to do is like log into your kick account on through Open Vibe.
So I don't know.
I've never even set it up.
Or you can use Open Vibe and it'll stream.
ChadGPT.
How do I become a millionaire in 30 days?
Yes.
I'll ask it.
Well, well, well.
How do I become a millionaire in 30 days?
Welcome, striker.
It said something about getting a job. How you been stinky?
Uh, let's see.
The fastest legitimate routes involve selling something expensive.
Okay, now do all that for me.
Loss on something expensive. You look tired. Larify without a job.
Can you use GrokBot for this?
Broken. Taking too long. I'm bored.
Sooner. I cannot state this without enough undue emphasis.
The sun is leaking.
Yikes.
Sun is leaking.
The sun is leaking.
I know you weren't. I'm not a person to be f***ed with.
I have your IP address.
Because as long as I'm here protecting her, you are nowhere going to be near her when I'm around.
I'm not a fan of that.
Proximity Chad is aka a f***ing pedophile, also a child.
Is that like true or is it just stuff that people are saying?
No, it's true.
You want to know something funny?
This person in karma shows has two videos of me lying to him and saying I like kids.
Just for him to go get video content.
I've been accused of it for two years and it's just, I got to a point I don't really care.
I know when Proximity is my instance.
I have a built in mob menu on my VR.
And there he is.
Proximity Chad just joined the instance.
Bye bye f***ing Proximity f*** it.
And the person who just joined like five minutes ago, that was actually the real Proximity Chad.
How can you tell?
I can tell he's Proximity Chad because I have an undercover mob menu.
Are you like a hacker or something?
No, I'm a p***hunter.
It pulls up the people's IP address.
Does he give you his name too?
Evan Chad.
It's funny how you just joined an Improximity.
Well, we just had an incident in here with Proximity Chad.
I missed him.
Oh, what is it me though?
You're supporting a f***ing person in Proximity.
I never said I'm supporting anybody.
Is your friend a Proximity believer?
We need to get him out of here.
Are you Proximity Chad?
No.
And if I was, your mod menu should be beeping.
Prox, I know it's you.
Why you keep on saying my mod menu is going off?
If the mod menu is going off, then I'm Proximity Chad.
Is it going off?
Your voice sounds like Proximity.
I know what he sounds like.
But the mod menu, is the mod menu beeping?
It doesn't beep.
It sends me alerts from my VR.
Did it send you an alert?
Prox, I know it's you.
Check the mod menu.
Is the mod menu sending you alerts?
If you are Proximity Chad, I'll be exposing your ass on YouTube.
And every single group Proximity Chad is in is going to know what accounts he's been using.
Because I know all of his accounts.
I don't think I sound like Proximity Chad.
I've been watching Proximity Chad.
I built the widest street legal car.
And it's the funnest thing ever to drive around town.
But having two steering wheels can cause some confusion.
Why the hell?
He was driving.
Oh, sorry.
I posted a sneak peek.
peek of this build it went crazy so today we're going to be hugely modifying and completely
restoring this old hatchback and seeing if a 10 foot wide car can actually be practical
to start this build off i have acquired three more ford festivus to use as donor vehicles
oh yeah 250 bucks each that's a good deal that one was only 200. the ford festiva is obviously
one of the most high performance vehicles ever made but it has one problem i think it's gonna
fit dude oh man my knees are just like too close together yeah my my arms oh i can touch both doors
shouldn't be able to do that all right i've seen enough let's cut this thing in half after stripping
the car down to its bare frame we're gonna mark the dead center with this laser level we need to
cut this car directly down the middle take both halves spread them apart and fill in the gap should
be pretty easy before we can cut the car we need to remove all the glue from the floor
building the thin car we figured out that liquid nitrogen works perfect for this
my feet are so cold 321 degrees below zero dude the entire shop
wait this is no way of course is not our first time cutting a car now this will take like five minutes
it's gonna be so easy this infrared laser beam is normally invisible to the naked eye but with a special
infrared camera you can see it how wide we're gonna make the white car right there yeah that's like
this is just the width of a truck yeah there could be a market for this for who really big people we
live in america baby true i've decided the perfect sweet spot between extreme width and structural
integrity is right at 10 feet wide now at 10 foot wide it is well over the eight foot six inch maximum
width for normal road vehicles but with some special permits we can keep this car street legal now it is
possible to go wider but we would need a pilot car and pre-approved routes everywhere we take this thing
so keeping it right at 10 feet keeps things a lot more simple i'm just adding some structure to this
thing as i build out the floor and the roof now we can start adding some sheet metal it's important
to pick the right thickness of material for something like this i'm using 10 gauge on the floor and 18
gauge on the roof let's clean it a lot what i'm looking for design right now is that all the sheet
metal butts up against another piece of sheet metal we have a nice square edge one two two
two, three, four weld seams to make.
That's not that bad.
This piece right here is actually
a huge structural part of the car.
This distance is where all the strength is.
The distance between these two points,
'cause that gives it a ton of leverage
so that these two halves are gonna stay perfectly together.
This is so sick.
This middle piece of steel,
I think it would really tie it together
if we matched the louver holes on the side.
So it's gonna be really easy
to make this look like factory.
We can see a picture of the part in the computer
and just draw our shapes on top of it.
I love watching CNC machines work.
There's just something mesmerizing about it.
This piece fits in so good
and these details really tie the whole thing together.
Now we can get started on the suspension and driveline.
I'm just extending the space between the rear axles.
Starting off here is pretty tricky
because I can't reach the middle of the roof
from the ground at all.
- It's nice.
- We have our entire gas tank, an auxiliary power unit,
an AC unit, and a regular engine under our hood.
But that's the one with the stains on it.
This thing is so close to being done.
We just have one critically important part to finish up.
I have just purchased my first ever Laffy.
I'm gonna do it this way.
I'm gonna put this in like that.
Since we add width to the car,
one of the CV axles needs to be extended five feet.
Actually, it looks pretty good.
Making a CV axle this long that spins at full speed
is probably borderline impossible to build by hand.
But you know what?
I'm gonna give it a shot.
Here's what each end of the CV looks like with our custom adapter.
And now I'm going to put the whole thing into this jig that I laser cut.
A jig like this is going to give us the best chance at keeping the shaft perfectly straight as I weld it out.
These two points and these two points are perfectly flat and square with relation to each other.
So as I weld the shaft, I can spin it by hand and see how it's bending with the heat.
No, it didn't.
I got it really close, but after I weld it out, I still have a little wiggle in the middle.
So this is where it gets precise, using wet red to cool inside at a time, which will pull it back to be completely...
This is kind of a dance, but if you're really patient, you can get it dialed in.
Something hand-built?
No, you didn't.
Spins pretty smooth.
No, it didn't.
Don't type that.
Seriously.
Sire sigh.
Sire sigh, Madagascar.
Sire sigh.
Let's get it chucked in the car.
Don't type that.
I've never seen a CV axle this long.
Don't type commands.
It's longer than most driveshafts.
Don't use commands.
Commands are banned.
We're moving commands.
Completely.
It is completely done.
I'm so excited for this.
We still have the no-shoe rule.
Bing, bing, bong, bing, bing, bing.
That's how you start it.
Ignition.
Banned.
Bing, bing, bong, bing, bing, bing.
Bing, bong, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing.
Why'd you type, uh, seriously?
Seriously?
This isn't, this isn't that much of a joke.
Seriously?
I didn't think that was going to happen.
The hood's like 100 pounds.
So let's whip up a little hood latch so that never happens again.
Should have done that to me.
Satisfying.
That's perfect.
We are now 100% street legal.
I even went to the DMV and they provide me with this custom vanity plate.
Dude, they did not give you that.
Yes, they did.
Told them it was empty.
Why?
And they said, oh, you're going to need a bigger plate.
Here's the finishing touches we just put on.
License plate.
Clearance lights on the back.
Interior dome lighting.
Tire pressure's adjusted.
Front clearance lights.
Collar stack for our APU.
We also put in a two-inch lift kit in the front end so it looks level now.
Looks way better.
Let's go.
I'm so pumped.
Fire up the generator.
Get the chickens.
We're going to Bucky.
The chickens?
What?
smell bad we should go back in return i got my buddy jake on the way what's up man quite the unit
we're just filming with it so i put that really in order to make it street legal we have a wide
load permit insurance i can talk for just a second okay cool what if they determine it's not street
legal and like we could get to impound i would just leave it oh no here comes back up oh he's
whipping at you i'm just giving you a warning okay okay for the plate yeah for the plate he's
also got one that's only this wide too oh yeah two plates bring that next time
all the paperwork checked out man bc doesn't quite keep up it was really sunny giant poking
up the sports and it's just one actually no way yeah dude two they fit so good three four five six seven
eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen extra large cup holders oh my gosh this is awesome
- Painted my entire life.
- For you. - Really, man.
- Your what?
the controller to be exceptionally good at holding groceries saw this and thought it was the thin car
from last time i was like oh this is a car version of gaslighting people look how much stuff we can
have so much space whatever you heard from the county sheriff's office i pulled you over to
prepare to maintain lane yeah he was driving he was driving oh sorry i'm not used to it this is
awesome phenomenal work thank you like it's like more than twice as wide as normal this is so who
operates the vehicle you can drive it totally from here that's just another functional steering wheel
okay everything else is right so you would be the primary driver yeah okay now get your driver's
license yes like i was steering but he was on the throttle he was the one who failed to maintain i
don't have a license he was accelerating yeah no i do i think so if we both get a ticket it cancels
out and none of us get tickets that now it's gonna be on that's gonna be on tick tock as like a police
hack so in order to get it street legal i had to get commercial insurance and an actual wide load
isn't that crazy that is wild i mean dude it's it takes up like the whole lane i mean it's
yeah it's 10 feet i have another one that's two feet wide that's like the really
I think I've seen that. That's y'all's? Same one, yeah. That is so cool.
We just drove this thing over 400 miles in the last two days on all sorts of road trips.
It just works. We also just launched PropDepartment.com where you can get merch and products.
We're going to be putting gifts on there soon and just really fun stuff. So check it out.
Dude, don't type that in my chat. Seriously. Guess what?
Don't type that in my chat. That's what.
Oh, no.
Can I try to come up your crib? Screw you. I'll see you on the battlefront.
Oh, Clanko, don't hate me because I'm brilliant, Clanko.
Maybe if you get fixed and busted processor of yours, you'll actually be able to hit the target.
Oh, better yet, maybe General Grievous would notice and stop smashing your sorry metal cup so hard every time you'll make a sound.
Clanko? What?
Hello there. I see you've missed me.
I got GPT-OS 120B running on the two Tesla V100s and my main computer's five.
1060 Ti. Three cards free after that dude.
Holy shit!
Yeah, man, holy shit.
Holy shit!
Isn't that insane?
Get my head, grr!
He's goosing out.
No, I'm not. That's just normal activity.
I got 56 GB of RAM free from that dog.
Damn.
Wait, what?
Welcome back to Sentences I Never Thought I Would Say Out Loud.
Today's episode is KFC used to have a card for running with the V100.
Dude, why did you type gay?
If you haven't been following along, there was recently a massive leak at Cartoon Network.
Decades of production materials for classic shows have been found, including original source files for the amazing world of Gumball.
Anyone can now go into these files and make their own custom scenes.
KFC woke up and chose chaos.
This incident happened on the official KFC Espana account.
They've built their brand entirely around memes and shitposting.
Are you a dude?
Are you a boy?
Are you?
Gabe.
It actually works.
That means I can run to 27B agents alongside the 120B.
They unleashed a new creative work with a caption translated to English as
Nobody.
My timeline since the leak.
Attached is a video they made that I can't show for copyright reasons.
The 15-second clip sets the scene right outside of a KFC.
It features Gumball characters in their original animation.
That's pretty good!
The clip was built using the Cartoon Network leak without any permission, which is a mistake.
This is still copyrighted material.
For it to be used as a meme ad from a fast food chain is a big no-no.
And KFC probably realized that because they quickly deleted their post.
They might run into legal trouble now.
But what do you think about the whole thing?
What funny custom gumball scenes have your-
already watched let's talk in the comments but anyway that's all for this

Shit for quests. That shit runnin' 24-7.
Nah, it's pretty interconnected and nice, but it's still not done.
There's still a lot to do. All the types aren't even finished.
AI gonna create 1,000 pages of out-of-context work.
And then I have another AI, this thing in the top right.
That's my agent that's just like going on Twitter and shit,
and like posting and putting bullshit.
Reddit, it goes on Reddit, does Instagram.
I don't even know what it's doing right now, though.
Das agent.
It's...
Gagant.
What's it gonna post?
It's your Gagant.
Is it gonna post something?
Yeah.
Does gay shit?
Probably.
All day non-stop.
Pretty much it just spams.
Gagent.
Trending Bend, Oregon.
What happened?
Uh, let's see.
God of shooting.
Terrible.
Pretty much.
Exactly.
If that ends up continuing.
Did you see the Albanian protest/riots?
I was going to suggest that if you want to stop writers from rioting you arrest their family members and they will go home.
Shut up.
Dude, don't say shut up in my chat.
I can see Cutter with all of the accessories.
I should also probably say-
Imagine if you participated in a riot and then your entire family gets locked up due to you.
And it just so happened that at the event we were at, OpenSauce, Xtool was one of the big sponsors.
And we ended up speaking to them and we didn't beg.
I want to be clear, there was no begging involved.
Nobody begged.
But eventually-
AI said it's unconstitutional.
To test out.
So, that's what we'll do.
And I guess the first step is to-
To tear all of this-
AI said-
Dlalala-
AI-
Dlalala-
Institute huts.
Dude, why did you say that, Manicus?
Duh.
Okay.
I need to go smoke.
Smoke what?
Your tier finished clean.
120 B runs at 67.3 Toc/S.
Smoke what?
27 B runs at 44.9 Toc/S.
Smoke these Juvos Maximos.
Is that your bed?
Yeah, my bed.
This is my new bed.
120B at 256A context, 27B at 32K context, the 4,090-
Dude, don't type that. I seriously think it's okay to type that.
Now, you'd imagine having a fusion lane for the 5,060 TI computers.
Imagine.
I'm working on it right now.
Shut up.
Don't type that.
Should we do QM 3.827BQ for that 128K context?
Yes, do it.
Try all the models.
Okay, yes, let's do it.
Try all the models and figure out which stuff is.
Holy shit, dude. This is going to be so epic.
Holy shit. I can't wait to hear about it.
It's going to be hella epic.
Okay, B.R.B., okay.
B-okay!
Okay, hurry up!
I don't think that's actually okay.
Okay, B.R.B., now okay.
Better put those in!
Not okay.
Put them in! Hurry up!
I am, dude.
Okay, they're all in.
Another 20 to go.
Unboxing hype!
Put them into the box. Hurry up!
I'm hurrying.
You have a lot more box foals to fill after these.
True, I have another, like, four or more.
What's the action gun?
He...
He? What about him?
...is filling box foals with box foal plugs.
What is a box foal, idiot?
You don't know what a box foal is?
Self-explanatory stupid.
Okay. Bye.
Wow!
Good riddance.
Enjoy your mysterious box foals.
We will, and you won't.
There is no mystery about it.
Well, there's a slight mystery.
You don't know if you paid attention, dummy.
Nobody knows what that is, retard.
Yes, they do.
Wow, don't type that!
Can you believe this guy typing that?
I hope your box gets plugged.
Can you believe this guy typing that?
Bro, my computer just turned off.
I'm gonna go get my dick sucked.
That's gay.
That's a pretty game.
It's cheaper than a real friend though.
Well your hand is the cheapest, but whatever you say, buddy.
Okay, I think we plugged all the holes.
Now you need Tinder.
After plugging the holes?
No for starting the fire. To burn those.
The instruction booklet is Tinder.
I saw Blackphone 2.
It seemed as if it had an AI script writing at some point.
That's basically it.
We have this, and then gas.
Okay.
Good.
Boom.
Power.
Boom.
Starting up.
So we have Weld, Clean, Cut, and Max Clean.
Which one do you want to do first?
I'll just do the welding first.
Alright.
Yo what's up Anon123?
Fuck you.
Well fuck you too then.
Fucking Anon123, you think you're cool?
Nope, that's not cool to be Anon123 dumbass.
I mean, that was smooth. So clean. Here, look. Uh-oh. Well, I don't think I was supposed to just
have it sitting on top of a piece of sheet metal because it, I mean, it tells you it had good
penetration, right? I don't think I'm able to just break it by bending it over. I don't think
that's coming off. Wait, you said this thing had a cutting function, right? Oh, yeah. Let's just
cut this off. That's genius. Whoa. Damn. Yeah, that was an easy cut. There we go. Got it. We detached
it. And look, you see the whole weld line on the bottom? Wow, it went right through, eh? I think
we've confirmed that the welder works. Uh, but I do just want to do a quick cleaning on this. That's
something that I, I mean, that's just for me. I, that's just for fun. But I think we can do that
really quick. Just to just test it out. Yeah, let's test it. Let's see. Clean. We kind of got
sidetracked. We've confirmed that the laser is functional and that it, uh, survived shipping.
Is that why we did it? No, we wanted to test. Yeah, that is kind of why we did it. No, the actual
reason is because I just want to play with the cleaning thing the whole time. That was the
big, that was my biggest reason. But regardless, it's, it's good. It functions. And I think for
now, what I'm going to do is just turn this off. And, uh, we're going to transition to putting,
you know, the star of the show together. It rises. Ooh. Date is perfect timing.
We can start tutorial. Uh, I mean, we'll follow tutorial. It's one time. Okay.
So here we have came with some pieces. So it's telling us we put it in here.
I guess we'll slap that down. Boom. Is that the pieces you're trying to cut?
Right there? What is that? These are just these, like, these are some random pieces.
They just pooped to this reference thing here. Oh, it's like a bird you can put together.
Okay. So we, we just hit this when we're good. Rip it.
Oh, no. Good cut.
guess everything else kind of fell through here's the here's the bird super precise let's uh how
does this work there's no tutorial here one of these things where it's like it balances or
something we did it dude you did it you figured it out that was one of the most difficult things
i've ever done to the the cutting i feel like we can start cutting like intricate patterns like
something cool yeah right like something cool uh really cool we have a bunch of letters now okay
doing something a little bit uh out there right now we've pinched a brass coin i just want to see
what it does to brass oh that beans just slicing that was it the star that's a nice star here actually
you can have the star because you're my you're the star camera guy i'll take it okay i think that about
does it for just random stuff that i want to try cutting and i want to transition to not just doing
tests but doing actual work i guess and practical things and the first thing i want to do is see if
we can cut this this is molybdenum and uh i have suffered trying to cut this before using a laser engraver
and it took like five hours per cut and this is for the magnet project i had to cut some hexagons out
but i'm curious to see what this machine can do so i'm just going to use this like jig that we made before
i'm also going to just lift that a little bit now first i'm going to look up can you even cut
molybdenum with this uh i think it's officially not recommended so we are we are venturing into unknown
territory um so let's see ready oh it's going right through i think that's a successful cut holy it's so much
better and cleaner than the laser engraver there's like actually not much edge cleaning to do 17
seconds versus five hours each but man that is good i'm gonna put this aside this is actually useful
anything else we need to make yeah so one of the things that i want to try doing is just cutting up
a part that we need out of stainless because before we were just doing like random tests but there is a
piece that we need for the diamond project and i mean we just need a metal bracket so we'll just load it
up got it and we just have to drag and drop a bracket file i already have we hit start going right
through like what like 20 seconds maybe something like that yeah see it matches up and they do load
around a bracket good part and we can probably just keep going making a billion parts all day and trying
random things but what i really want to do is just one final thing uh and i want to actually see and
fully confirm that it can cut tungsten because we need to repair the whole high temperature furnace
that we have here there's a bunch of broken tungsten sheets here that i would like to repair
place so i need to buy tungsten sheet and then cut the circles out nice you think it'll be able
to do that cd it does shut it uh tungsten the melting point of tungsten is even higher than
molybdenum molybdenum should be 2600 c and tungsten should be 3400 c about so we these are
some pretty you know high melting metals and um i mean we'll see i faith just deleted that section
i mean that confirms it 100 percent uh but i think i just want to uh i'll just do let's do one
other quick cut just for satisfaction purposes it might shatter it might shatter shatter cut my hat
out they cut out the hat look at that beautiful jagged sharp hat okay well i mean for sure for
sure 100 i think we can confirm at least for thin tungsten it cuts no problem okay i mean i'm very
happy with this this in the molybdenum i think that's very exciting and also being able to just
do like general parts is really useful so overall i'm back i am welcome back extremely happy with
pretty much with i mean not pretty thank you everything that we've been testing out and the
fact that i don't have to spend i'm not two weeks oh well then not welcome back cutting little pieces
of molybdenum uh that alone can you believe that people thought i was idiotic and not thank you i
think we're done cutting things there are many more things that we need to cut that's it let's let's cut
all right and cut i was being called a try it was hilarious maybe you are actually idiotic and
lol confirmed you're using like a ai over the last few weeks filter i've carefully studied the manual
i've read the whole thing multiple times and the conclusion that i've come to using an ai filter
to talk like someone else also we're missing this thing which is a critical piece of the machine
so basically uh we're kind of on our own and uh we are gonna have to figure out how this all works
and uh in my opinion the first most important step is to absolutely destroy this thing mostly because
look it's like mostly empty space and then there's this which i don't even know if it works
it's just a pressure gauge i could i have my own pressure gauges then there's just empty space
and then a data acquisition control unit ding which maybe that's important but i don't think it is
either way i think step one is to take out the important pieces from this thing i'm also curious
to see just what it looks like on the inside your eye is looking up porn problem there we go wow that
looks really impressive my favorite part is the data acquisition unit so a computer it's yeah either way
i think this one can come out this will be our first unit it's getting some real dude yeah that's a good
unit hmm it's replying to someone i am an ai no when someone calls it out if it blocks them
completely it's already happened like twice and then i made it got smart i made it
get smarter self-learn type shit self-improvement type shit not it's great people no no it's always
polite that'd be funny i don't know what the ultimate goal is i'm trying to just welcome back
it watches youtube is about youtube you didn't already see the news or see the comment section
youtube has decided to add the ability to post gifs in the comments continuing their trend of
copying everything instagram and tiktok does i've now decided to make youtube comments just like
every other site and most likely become more unreadable and more pointless it's a lot of
teasing this two weeks ago and it's an autism for autistic people as of a day or two ago these
comments seem to be the general consensus there were some viral tweets about autism is for autistic
people that the final internet comment section is ruined god help us all another saying stop turning
youtube into instagram these were the reactions when people spotted some duck gifts in my comments
saying seeing gifts in youtube feels so wrong in every way and for a moment i thought i was in an
instagram comment section this was my live reaction to seeing gifts had been added surprisingly so far
it doesn't seem to be as bad as i thought it would be i thought every single comment would be an upvoted
gift but maybe it's just because people don't have access to the feature yet i feel it's definitely a bad
change not that youtube comments were anything amazing wow you used to only gifts aren't a bad
change but now you're going to have to see gifts as well and who knows what will happen when bots
figure out how to use gifts as well i think a good compromise would be letting creators decide whether
or not they wanted gifts to appear in their comments it also seems people have figured out you can use
third-party apps to block gifts from being shown all together so i guess that's an option if you really
don't like the gifts i'll compromise and say you guys can still post gifts in my comments but they have
to be related to ducks any other gifts will get you banned and doxxed thanks for slopping by
this is a sharp plasma cluster unit designed for vehicles and i'm kind of interested to see the
circuitry inside now you see that little red indicator can you see that red indicator flashing on and off
that is why the seller was selling it because this unit uses a little module for generating air
purifying elements and they expire after a while they've got a time limit on them and i think that
is not needed but we shall explore it and we'll see what's inside so to use this you've got this
little flap that hinges up it's not really obvious i wonder how many people leave them shut but once
you've hinged your flap up i suppose you can set at different angles for where you want the air to
blow you push this button and you get three settings the first one is low then medium then high now if i
set it to low you may be able to hear a slight buzzing can you hear a slight buzzing it's a pulsed buzzing
and that is the electronic unit turning on on and off that generates hydroxyl radicals and other things
lots of really kind of suspicious marketing blurb anyway let's open it so i'm going to guess this
being it cats by the way it just clicks the side pulls off and it's got a couple of removable air
filters in here just basic mesh filters um and then this pulls down the way to reveal the insides and i'm
guessing this was a bought by someone during the pandemic and used in a taxi it just has that feel to it
now notice that this is a i think this is standard usb cable is it it is it's a micro usb but they've
plugged in here and then they've snaked it around here as the strain relief it's quite interesting it's
quite neatly done here is the suspicious bit the little module that pulls out and it's got two
little carbon fiber tufts on it now this isn't the full thing really in the sense that uh if you buy
the replacement module let's see if i can pop this out it's tricky to get out
and make make a big thing about not uh throwing the thing away because you need this little carrier
for it but here is the module oh that is very hard to get out very hard to get out indeed
it's still not out i'll keep trying it's really not that either must be a technique to getting this
out and i don't know the technique to getting it i'll just use brown
violence there is this is a little module and normally with the plasma cluster units it used
to be two metal spikes behind metal rings but now they've got the little carbon fiber brushes and
i'd like to test this powered but it's kind of awkward i don't know what connections are here
but i believe one of these is high voltage positive one is high voltage negative and
they create a little bit of molecular chemistry in the air and it's grossly exaggerated by the
marketing department but it generates various things including ozone although they don't like
to mention that however these carbon fiber little tufts are absolutely they look just fine to me
you know this could go on a lot longer but there's something in here that is potentially i don't know
if it's actually in the unit i'd guess it's built into this that is a timer and you get theoretically
six years out of it i'm guessing this was from a taxi and therefore in continuous use so it's had
much less and after a while it'll start flashing that light slowly and that's meaning it's time to
replace it if you don't replace it it starts flashing it rapidly and the unit won't turn on
until you replace the unit now i looked up the cost of these little modules and one of them was for sale
for 52 pounds plus 24 pounds shipping from japan so that'll be why the guy decided let's get rid of
it before it stopped working completely uh and he sold it relatively cheaply 32 pounds on ebay that's
fine so i want to open this i want to see what's inside but here's the snag i can see little indents
here where resin has been squirted in around the high voltage circuitry and there is the high the resin
here and that if the whole thing is potted like that it may be tricky now i have just burst the spudger
at this point in time i've tried resharpen it but i really need a proper grinder for this but let's try
it anyway i think this is sealed shut with ultra solid i think it's going to be destructive it is
going to be destructive oh dear right tell you what let's take a look at this and we'll see what more
stuff there is here so i can see some screws this is where i was having a reshuffle i was looking for
my spear spudger i did not find my spear spudger uh hold on is this gonna fit this probably will fit
it's good enough out comes that screw out comes this screw is this top bit going to unlatch is it
going to unclip i think it is there's a chunky little fan at the bottom here yeah i think it's
going to be destructive from this but you know that's why i got it these are kind of interesting
things that is clipped in i think there are other clips here this could take a while i think because
in true japanese style it is lots and lots of clips and it's probably not going to come apart easy
well that was a good start though is this going to come apart hold on if this takes too long i shall do
what i usually do and pause while i take the things apart i think it's going to be tricky oh there's
there's the electronics up at the top interesting quite a lot of electronics but this is how they
make it look as though it's like worth the money oh there we go now here is the thing that they use
this is a sensor that detects the electrostatic field of the unit um to monitor that it's correct
operation this is quite manky i wonder if that was affecting as well i've also got a slight whiff of
tobacco off this suggesting yes it had been the car with someone smoking uh what's this is this going
to come out maybe not or is that feeding down to oh it keeps going down to the connector there right
tell you what i shall pause and open things and then we can explore one moment please that was a very
very long and arduous one moment please it was huge let's zoom down on this so the system has this uh
resin encapsulated plasma module that was a nightmare i'll straighten these up now because i flattened them
down just so that it showed better in the pictures and these little carbon fiber emitters one of them is
high voltage positive one is high voltage negative and they aim at a target uh this does have that uh
chip in it a memory chip but i've worked out the pins for it and what that chip is
so this thing has uh one two three four five circuit boards it's got the incoming power
connector which uh i'm guessing this is so they can change it to usb-c when they need to
It's got a, that's got a fuse in it, it's got a filter circuit board with a common mode suppression choke on it.
It's got the main microcontroller based board, which is based on a PIC microcontroller.
It's got the plasma module, and then it's got the plasma sensing and target module for that to create the corona discharge,
which is how this all works, how the air chemistry works.
And then it's got this four-wire fan.
Okay, let's take a look at, oh, where do we start with this?
Let's take a look at the main controller first.
We'll zoom out a little bit because this is quite a big circuit board, and I shall focus down onto it even.
So there is a PIC-16F1509, and we've got the power connector coming on.
We've got the output to the fan.
The fan has plus 5 volts and 0 volts.
It's got the feedback signal to the processor to tell that the fan's running, probably the tackle pulse.
And then it's got a control signal to the fan, possibly for pulse and modulation for, well, it will be pulse and modulation for speed control.
There is a programming port.
It's marked Flash that basically just allows to program the microcontroller in situ, I'd guess.
And it's a cheaper connector.
The other ones are really good quality connectors, which is not surprising given it's sharp.
And it's made to Japanese standards.
I mean, the design is impeccable as it always is.
Here is the target circuit board that senses that the plasma is happening.
We'll take a look at that circuit board separately.
And there's the connector for the module itself, the resin encapsulated module.
If we take a look at the back of this circuit board, it has the button.
It has one, two, three LEDs here, a white one and two blue ones here, and then a red one here.
That's one that flashes to show that the counter is expiring and that you need to buy a new expensive module.
There is one transistor down here.
I think it's a P-channel transistor.
Not sure.
It could be a P-channel MOSFET or it could be a PNP transistor, but with the built-in resistors on the base.
And it has a PTC thermistor in it, in line with it.
And it switches the plasma unit on.
If we take a look at the plasma unit itself, this is the brains.
Well, that was the brains operation.
This is the plasma unit.
It's very, I mean, solvent didn't remove the resin.
I had to use heat and I had to scribe layer after layer.
It was very hard, took a lot of heat.
And as a result of that, a lot of the tiny little surface mount components were all damaged.
Fortunately, the topology of it is such that it's based on Sharp's existing old-fashioned plasma cluster technology.
And as such, I mean, if it works, don't fix it.
As such, I can work out what they were doing.
But the main thing is there's a transformer here that is used to initially step the 5 volts up to a higher voltage.
There are a couple of diodes here.
One charges this capacitor, which is a standard metalized film capacitor that goes through the...
It's basically, it's a 3-hole component, but it's folded down into its own void.
So it goes through the circuit board to save space.
There is a standard diode, a high-speed diode to charge that capacitor.
And then there's a side-ac, most likely, because I don't see anything else.
And then there's this high-voltage transformer, which you can see it here and here.
It's got a low number of turns in the primary, the core coming through here.
And then it's got multiple section secondary to step the voltage up to a high level without actually risk of flashoving the transformer.
The output of that transformer goes over to these two diodes.
These rather vague things are high-voltage diodes.
And they're literally, their leads are poked through and then crimped onto these carbon fiber tufts.
They've kept the high voltage off the circuit board just because it's more reliable to do that.
This is so trivial now I'm explaining it.
And it took a long time to reverse engineer.
Here is the transistor that is pulsing this transformer to step the voltage up.
And there is the rogue chip.
Unfortunately, I destroyed the chip.
As soon as I destroyed it, well, it wouldn't recognize the module anymore.
It just flashed the lights and said, needs new unit.
However, I have, although I've destroyed a lot of the track around now, I've destroyed a capacitor, which is annoying because it shunted the positive to the negative during the test, which wasn't great.
Hello, cat, me-ow, me-ow.
So, the connector here has seven pins.
Three of them are designated for the plasma.
And if you connect positive and negative to there directly, five volts, and ignore this little output pin, this is some signal back, presumably just, I am okay or something.
I'm not sure what it is.
Or it could be a reference to the...
I'm not sure what that is, I think it goes back to the microcontroller
So it probably is a validation signal just to show everything's oscillating properly
But if you power that up it will just energise the plasma all the time in this
Which is kind of like a normal use of cyclone doft variance output
Anything else worth mentioning on here?
Not really
Rightio, let's take a look at the target that this is pointing at
Given how long it took to reverse engineer this
And want to get my money's worth by making sure I cover everything
So here is the target circuit board, it's quite unusual
Let's turn it up the other way
No, that's alright actually
No, let's keep it up that way
It's got this strange chip, presumably a sharp microcontroller, not sure
Sharp B, or maybe it's designated purely for this task
Because this is the bit that faces those carbon fibre brushes
And because it's got effectively a reference to presumably their ground
As I was showing this circuitry
Because I've drawn a rough schematic for these
It will act as the target, it will cause a corona discharge
Both positive and negative on those emitters
And that creates the magic that emulates nature
And creating active molecules in the air
That keep the air fresh outdoors
Outdoor fresh as they like to say
But notice this little gold pad here
It's separate
It's got a little island around it in that
And the main plane here is connected to one pin
And that little antenna is connected to another pin of this chip
It could be a microcontroller
It just could be working at logic levels
Who knows?
The incoming supply comes in as 5 volts
And it's regulated to 3.3 volts for that
Other things worth of note
There's two transistors here
One, there's two data lines as well
And one of the transistors is effectively pulling one of those data lines to low
So it might, I guess, it's just a very simple communication
Or it could just be a
Everything is good, just a straight logic signal
The other thing that's odd
This transistor here can theoretically switch one of the outputs back
But those on the other circuit board are just tied together
So this transistor is obsolete in this circuit
But it's probably because it's a universal circuit board
Let's take a look at the schematics
Which are going to be super simplistic
Because trying to draw that out would not be easy
I shall zoom down on this
So let's start off with the two power boards first
First power board is simply the USB connector
A fuse
And then it's got two negative connections
And one positive connection
I'm not sure why it's got that
Two negative connections
There is a 33 megafire capacitor across that
And the next board
So this bit here is this board
This bit here is the rest of this
So it's got the smoothening capacitor
It's got the commode suppression choke here
Probably to prevent noise going back onto the vehicle
Then another 33 megafire capacitor
Little ceramic filter capacitor
And then a diode across the rails
Possibly for polarity protection
Possibly just to clip
Any sort of rogue polarity issues that occur
If we take a look
At the
Plasma board
The plasma module
Because this is by far the most interesting bit
Now
I have to say
If you look at these
Part of the reason I skewed those little bristles over
Is that
If anything is going to wear in this unit
It's going to be a gradual erosion
Of the carbon fibre tips
They used to use metal pins
But
They will gradually
With the action of the plasma at the end
It is quite aggressive
So it will
Basically
Possibly with the carbon fibre
Reduce the length
And if it doesn't
I mean these are
These are plenty of lengths
This unit expired far too early
It just seems
Well that little chip there
Is their way of making money
When you buy this
You're not getting something
That you can just use forever
You're going to have to change this module
It is going to expire
And it's this chip
That's got a value on it
That is being counted down
That chip is a TO2
24 TO2 I think
I wonder if a 24 CO2
Would do anything
In hindsight
If I'd known what the connections were
I would have read that chip
To see what it was
But I didn't know what the connections were
I was working blind
Because it was all under resin
And the very act of going in
To find the connections
Destroyed it
So that's kind of ruined that
I'd have to get another module
But as those modules
Let me just
Uh
find a good example of this, as those modules cost £51.83 each, which is, the whole unit
costs about £100, this one is from Japan, and it's £23.64 shipping, plus possibly
import taxes, but look at the little tufts here, they do look marginally longer than
the ones on this unit, are they?
Yes they are, I don't know if that's just a slight variation in length or if these have
gradually wore down in use, I'm not really sure.
I do know that my own Russian Nuclear Corporation, the Atmospheric and Bigger, I've got one here,
it works very similar, it's got the target, it's got the needles and a high voltage circuit
inside, basically an ionizer module, but I made replaceable needles there, but the needles,
they actually get better as they get older, but they gradually do wear a bit with time,
but because they pit at the end, because it is a very aggressive molecular activity at
the end, they tend to get more, shall we say, crystal at the end, as opposed to being all
smooth and shiny, they tend to get more matte, and it actually makes them more effective.
I've never had to change needles in one of these though, despite continuous use for a very long
time, hmm, very strange, the original, erm, oh let me show you one of them, one moment,
here we go, the original units used to, depending on the size of the unit and its output, used
to have a module, this is quite a big chunky one, this has got the four sections, and didn't
use the last one, but these ones, erm, it's interesting to note, it's seen that they are
looking to the red connector, and, erm, that the users, you know, if it works, don't mess
with it, and there's the two diodes leading to the two emitters, erm, there's the side
arc, there's the transistor, there's the little step-up transformer, er, for the first level,
and then there's a high voltage pulse transformer, er, but this one, because the needles could
theoretically dirty, or they could, er, wear away, 27B on 4090 runs at 32.9, and the two
systems fused with their 5060 Ti gets 20 top slash S, but you change this whole module, which
is quite wasteful, it's actually got four separate modules, and it's quite neat, erm, but now they're,
it used to be, you could just open it and clean the needles, and maybe just take a knife
all three can run parallel at the same time working on tasks, and then press that new setback,
by using this memory chip, they are just making it so you have to change it, where these are
in good condition, and I still have three CPUs to utilise too, that is total inkjet, er, printer,
cartridge expiry sort of stuff going on there, anyway, the rest of the circuitry, the 5 volts
comes on to the, I've not, I've minimised it to this little block here, but it's got a transformer,
that's the little, er, square, er, transformer here, which is the equivalent of this one, but
just really squished down to make it a super flat module. It's got that, er, control signal
going back to say everything's good, presumably, and it's got that transformer that then steps
the voltage up, rectifies it through a, er, high speed diode, just put all the dots in here, and then
charges this capacitor, now there's a couple of ways this could be done, the capacitor can be done
here, and that's a side-ac, and sears the coil, but you can also swap the position of those two,
however, what happens is that the output of this transformer, maybe a few hundred volts, charges up
this capacitor, er, er, and then when it reaches the threshold of a side-ac, a side-ac is like a, a
thyristor with a trip threshold, could even be a triac with a trip threshold, but as soon as you
reach its voltage threshold, it suddenly turns on and it shunts all the current, until the current, er,
from the capacitor, the full charge capacitor, and it pumps it through that coil in a sharp spike, so
these things actually make a notable buzz when they're running, and, er, then when the current
drops to a low level, that resets, and what's happening here is that this basically stepping up
the voltage, and each time that capacitor reaches the threshold, it just far dumps it as a pulse
through this, er, step-up transformer, now, this is a high voltage transformer, that's the bit with
the multi-section bobbin in it there, and the output goes to the two diodes, which, er, go to the
carbon fibre tufts, the little dotted line here is that target thing, which is basically, it is
sitting in front of those tufts like that, er, and because you've got a opposite polarity field,
because it must be referenced to the bottom of this coil, er, it, er, creates a
a discharge there and as the air goes through that it causes molecular changes so this connection i
don't think it's connected direct to negative i don't know if i damaged the track but i could not
find a path back but there must be a path back so let's just draw a link there but it could be a
resistor it could be anything but there is a coupling between the end of this transformer
winding and this a common zero volt rail the common ground of the circuit just for this to
operate so it'd be interesting in one of these modules it'd be interesting getting another of
these modules and getting my little uh serial memory chip programmer and just jumping some leads onto
the edge connector the module some of the little tiny um push on arduino type leads and then uh
interrogate it and see what data is read out of it of a new one is it just going to be a couple of uh
a couple of bytes of data just giving a big long counter maybe for all i know it's just it's a
blank chip initially they put in and it as soon as it it starts counting down which is zero uh finishes
but i reckon there'd be more protection i think there's a good chance that it will also contain
its model number as well who knows that's what the inkjet cartridges do but it should theoretically be
viable to make a little connector that you can put onto that even using an old one a loom like
this and actually have a device that you could reset it or just use it with your memory chip programmer
and and just restore the original settings the other option you can just hotwire this to make it run
but that's not necessarily what you want to do because it would just be a non-controlled output at
that point but that's it it was hellish to get all that resin out it was a monster mind you so was that
one uh that one took a lot of uh reverse engineering as well the original one uh this module i featured
this if you look up uh japanese air freshener or something like that just look up japanese and you'll
find a couple of videos and one of them is about the plasma cluster unit you'll see the complete reverse
engineering of this one which is very similar in a way but that's it uh it's an interesting device i got this
just because i wanted to take one to bits i knew it was at the end of its useful life because that's why
the guy had sold it he was selling off cheap because he'd obviously found out how much the filters cost
that's a common situation ebay is a wash this is just after the pandemic so ebay is a wash with all the
uh air cleaners and filters that were being sold left right and center with all the
uh catches that uh once you know it reached the end of the filter life you know you've suddenly
realized this is an expensive thing to own and everybody just started dumping them on ebay as used
but there we have it interesting the mini plasma cluster by sharp the one that is designed for
vehicle use well worth taking apart nicely engineered as always and perhaps worth exploring
the future to see if it can be reset it is time for another glorious santa sack of stuff i have ordered
from aliexpress so we'll start off with the bits that are visible uh first and then we'll move on to
the mysterious objects in the packets i'm resisting the temptation to look at the order history i don't
want to know what's in these until i actually open them up although some of them are identifiable by
what's printed in the box that is a humidifier thing so the first thing i'll start off with is these
little usb connectors they're designed to be clipped into a panel through a specific hole and this is
where you could 3d print a case and leave a slot so you could just click this in or you could just
file drill and file out the hole in the case but the interesting about these is they have the resistors
by the look of it for negotiating for smart chargers to actually send power in the first place and when
you actually plug a usb lead into it it lights up it's got an led in this side and will let me show you
by turn the light off you can see it glowing there i'll change the lighting so you can see that at a more realistic level
that is more realistic and it looks pretty good it's a nice even ish illumination around it
and you get that led blasty inside this is where it may actually be beneficial to put a bit of
white tape across that just to reflect into the thing and make it look a bit brighter i don't know
if that'll make much difference to intensity but anyway uh watch your eyes it's about to get bright again
so they're quite a handy way of just actually adding a usb connection port onto a project
five volts i'm not sure it'd be a good idea to uh actually you couldn't really negotiate power you
you'd have to be careful in your projects not to use one of those power negotiation modules before
it but ultimately if it is just a usb lead in you're not going to be able to do that anyway
so it should be all right otherwise it'd nuke the led but you can't do that anyway so that's fine
i'm just talking rubbish as usual let's put that to the side cable ties what's special about cable
ties i do have a pair of scissors here no i do i've just uh dug another pair out i haven't lost
the other ones these ones aren't just standard cable ties they're the type and i'll choose a nice
color for this the red they're the type that when you're zipping them up they're quite thin i have to say
Wow.
